NO RUSHED APPOINTMENTS
Every treatment starts with a proper skin assessment.
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanner for 3–4 weeks before your appointment.
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF daily in the weeks leading up to your treatment.
- Stop using retinoids and exfoliating acids at least 1 week before your appointment.
- Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, or skincare products on the face.
- Let us know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed prior to Lumecca IPL.
- Disclose all current medications and supplements at your consultation.
- Stop any photosensitizing medications as directed by your provider before your appointment.
- Book your appointment at least 2 weeks before any major event.
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily and avoid direct sun exposure while your skin is healing.
- Keep skin moisturized with gentle, fragrance-free products.
- Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids for at least 1 week after your treatment.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for 24–48 hours post-treatment.
- Skip intense exercise for the first 24 hours after your appointment.
- Some redness and warmth immediately after treatment is normal and should clear within a few hours to a day.
- After Lumecca IPL, pigmented spots may darken for 1–2 weeks before flaking off — this is part of the process. Do not pick or scrub the area.
- After CoolPeel, mild flaking and dryness in the days following treatment is normal.
- Makeup may be applied 24 hours after CoolPeel. For Aerolase and Lumecca, makeup is fine the same day as long as the skin is intact.
- Contact us if you experience unusual swelling, blistering, or prolonged redness.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Does it hurt?
Aerolase is well-tolerated with no numbing required — most clients feel mild warmth during treatment. Lumecca IPL feels like a quick snap of light against the skin. CoolPeel involves brief discomfort; a topical numbing cream is applied beforehand. We’ll walk you through what to expect at your consultation.
How many sessions do I need?
It depends on the treatment and the concern. CoolPeel: visible improvement is often seen after one session, though a series of 3–4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended for significant resurfacing. Aerolase: 4–6 sessions for acne; 3–6 for pigmentation and general skin improvement. Lumecca IPL: 1–3 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart. We’ll give you a clear recommendation at your consultation.
Is there downtime?
Aerolase and Lumecca IPL have no downtime — redness clears within a few hours and most clients return to their day immediately. CoolPeel involves 1–2 days of redness and some light flaking in the days that follow.
Is laser safe for darker skin tones?
Aerolase is safe for all skin types and tones. Lumecca IPL is generally recommended for lighter skin tones due to the nature of IPL technology. CoolPeel suitability depends on your skin tone and history — your provider will assess this before recommending it.
When will I see results?
Lumecca IPL results are often visible after the first session as pigmented areas begin to clear. Aerolase results build gradually over a series of treatments. CoolPeel improvements typically appear within a few days, with continued improvement over weeks as collagen rebuilds.
Can laser treatments be combined with other services?
Yes — many clients combine laser treatments with injectables or skincare treatments. Your provider will advise on what can be done together and what needs to be spaced out.
