Aerolase Laser Treatment
Multi-Purpose Laser Therapy for All Skin Types
The Aerolase Laser at Muse Modern Spa is an advanced aesthetic laser system designed to address a variety of skin concerns without discomfort or downtime.
Aerolase uses unique 650-microsecond pulse technology that is safe and effective for all skin types and tones, making it an inclusive option for individuals seeking skin improvement.
How Aerolase Works
Aerolase delivers high-powered laser energy in extremely short pulses—up to 50 times faster than traditional lasers. This ultra-short pulse duration allows the energy to pass through the skin quickly without overheating surrounding tissue.
The laser targets water, melanin, and hemoglobin within the skin. By heating these specific elements, Aerolase stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation, and addresses visible imperfections while minimizing the risk of burns or pigmentation changes.
Because the pulse is shorter than the skin’s thermal relaxation time, the skin cools naturally between pulses, which contributes to the treatment’s comfort and safety profile.
What This Treatment Is Designed to Address
Aerolase may help improve the appearance of:
- Active acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Rosacea and facial redness
- Fine lines and skin laxity
- Melasma and uneven pigmentation
- Sun damage and age spots
- Enlarged pores and rough texture
- Spider veins and vascular lesions
- Pseudofolliculitis barbae (ingrown hairs and razor bumps)
The treatment can also be used for hair reduction and certain dermatological conditions when appropriate.
Customization at Muse
Each Aerolase treatment is customized based on skin type, condition severity, and individual goals. Your provider will evaluate your skin and adjust laser parameters to address your specific concerns safely.
Treatment intensity can be modified to match your needs while maintaining comfort throughout the session.
Areas Treated
Aerolase is most commonly performed on the face. Treatment may also be applied to the neck, chest, hands, and other areas of the body when appropriate. Treatment areas are confirmed during consultation.
Before Your Treatment
To prepare for Aerolase:
- Avoid excessive sun exposure in the weeks prior to treatment
- Discontinue certain skincare products if directed by your provider
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup
- Inform your provider of any recent treatments, medications, or skin sensitivities
No anesthetic or cooling gel is typically required for this treatment.
After Your Treatment
There is no downtime following Aerolase treatment. Skin may appear mildly red immediately after the session, similar to light warmth, which typically resolves within hours.
Most people resume normal activities immediately, including work and daily routines.
Aftercare guidance includes:
- Applying sunscreen daily and avoiding prolonged sun exposure
- Keeping skin moisturized during the healing period
- Avoiding harsh or exfoliating products for a few days post-treatment
Your provider will review specific aftercare recommendations based on your treatment.
Treatment Series
Results may be noticeable after a single session, though optimal improvement typically requires a series of treatments. Treatment frequency depends on the condition being addressed.
For acne, most patients see improvement after 4 to 6 sessions. For skin rejuvenation and pigmentation concerns, 3 to 6 treatments are often recommended. Sessions are usually spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart.
What to Expect During Treatment
Aerolase sessions are quick, typically lasting 10 to 30 minutes depending on the treatment area and concerns addressed.
The treatment is often described as highly tolerable, with most people experiencing only a mild sensation of warmth. Protective eyewear is provided during the session.
